SlimLine Single Threshold Shower Base is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected. This shower base worked as expected. No complaints from my installer. It does NOT flex when you stand on it and needed no additional support. It has a nice texture under your feet which also seems easy to clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for This base is not structural and relies heavily on the bed you set it in.You will not be able to set his base in regular cement of any kind or consisity. Make sure you use a Lightweight Bedding Mortar.Like: CustomFloat Bedding Mortar. Many use STRUCTO-LITE Basecoat Plaster. Dried product is 15% lighter than water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Construction Question : "Benny" commented, "You DO NOT have to use Mortar/Plaster". Then why does the Dreamline "Installation Guide" show the "Cut-Away" View mentioning Mortar/Plaster ?? I nailed mine to the Studs and have moved on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shower base I bought this base for a tub to shower conversion. The contractor had no issues with the base installation, and so far it has functioned very well. This was installed on a slab, and the contractor filled the void under the base with with concrete to insure stability. The texture improves stability, and the low threshold is great. It has only been installed for a few months, and I hope it will last for many years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be really careful. Drain hole isn't actually centered While the overall quality of this pan seems great, we can't use it because we failed to notice that the drain hole isn't centered front to back. So if your shower head is on either the left or right wall, when you're standing in the shower, the drain is going to look wrong. Our pan is going back and we'll have to find a different one where the drain is centered both directions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built and packaged! This pan looks great! I was very fairly priced and came in packaged to withstand a tornado. After ordering it, I downloaded the dimensions so I could start my plumbing work. The spec sheet says 24" X 15", so I roughed in the PVC. When it got here, I was glad that I did not glue the pieces because the actual dimensions were 24" X 15 3/8". Very happy with the quality though!

Looking at your 30 x 60 slim line base. My question is what is the width of the front lip where you place the door? I assume I can use a different manufactures glass doors?

Asked by: Robb
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The width of the threshold is 2-3/4" wide, so you will want to make sure that the shower door that you pick will work with that size threshold. While we would love for you to choose a DreamLine shower door, our shower bases can be used with other shower doors. You will just want to make sure that the requirements for the shower door that you choose match the shower base. You said ""DreamLine shower bases are not screwed to the studs. They are installed on a bed of mortar against the studs.""" where should be wall bord, behind base?, On top edge base? cover(stud->base->wall bord) base like other base?

Asked by: strong energy
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Your base is installed first, to the studs. After installation of the base, you will install your backer board to 1/8" above the tile flange that is against the studs. The backer board does not go behind the shower base. is the 32X48 shower base drain in the center? the drawing shows 15" from the back

Asked by: Tom White
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The drain is centered on width only. You are correct that the drain is 15" from the back wall. I may be missing it but, is the pan screwed to the wall studs once level/shimmed and on the motor base?

Asked by: TerryP
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine! You are not missing anything. DreamLine shower bases are not screwed to the studs. They are installed on a bed of mortar against the studs. Screwing the base to your studs can result in cracking and will void your warranty on the product. We recommend following the installation manual as written, with 1" of mortar at the perimeter of the standing area, tapering to 3.8" around the drain area. Does the shower pan have to have a mortar base?

Asked by: Buster
Thank you for your interest in DreamLine Shower Doors! Yes, a sand mortar mix is required for proper installation. Installation of the base requires sand mortar mix of a thick, pudding-like consistency that is spread 1” thick around the perimeter of the standing area, tapering down to 3/8” thick around the drain. Is the 30x60 single threshold model EXACTLY 30"x60"?  Meaning, if I were to add 1/2" backerboard & 1/8" tile on both sides (1 1/4" total added thickness), the opening width would end up only 58 3/4"?  If it's not exactly 30"x60", what is it?

Asked by: Vebe
Thank you for your interest in DreamLine Shower Doors! The sizes for the DreamLine SlimLine bases are the sizes specified. The shower base dimensions are provided for unfinished wall opening measurements. For single threshold bases, designed for an alcove shower configuration, DreamLine recommends waiting until the base has been installed and your walls are finished/ tiled before ordering a door, especially a hinged and/ or pivot door model. A 60" bypass sliding shower door will be compatible with the base you referenced because DreamLine bypass sliding door models have guide rails which can be trimmed for width adjustment.
